In 10 minutes I will turn 25. Oh, boy.
I have had such a good time in CA. If there is anything I have learned in my 25 years, don't expect anything from anyone. The only true person you should and can count on is yourself (and maybe your family). Once you stop holding people to your standards, they will never let you down. Once you stop trying to make people what you want them to be, they will never let you down. This sounds sad, but its not.
Here are some other things I have learned in my old age:
1. Always trust your instincts. You are never just paranoid.
2. Do what you want to do! Who cares if its hard or you're scared.
3. Dont worry if people like you, they only like themselves. If you fit in with whatever that is, then they will make room for you.
4. Only let people in your life who are on your level. Never make excuses for people.
5. Even when you're mad, don't take it out on your friends. Just go sit in your bed and write it down. Or yell at the mirror.
6. Try to have fun! Even though you are busy, and stressed, and tired... don't forget you are a human being.
7. If you are ever faced with drama, laugh it off, and move on. Never let anyone have control over your feelings.
8. Be open to other people, they are never as shitty as you think. Unless you want them to be.
9. Work hard. Things will fall into place, and you will always feel good.
10. Don't be afraid to make huge changes. Move across the country. Start a band. Go to school. You will never regret it.
Happy birthday me.
